OPIN and Canadian Paralympic Digital Revamp

(Ottawa - March 12, 2018) -  OPIN Software is an Official Supplier of the Canadian Paralympic Committee. This partnership was created to design a digital experience to help Canadians with disabilities become more involved in sport. The new website allows the Canadian Paralympic Committee to connect with Canadians in new ways, providing a reimagined user experience.

The new website comes in time for the 2018 Paralympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea. With the new website, Canadians are able to connect with and support Paralympians through a number of interactive features. A live medal count widget allows users to track the progress of the Paralympic team.

In designing the new site, the organizations focused on making it accessible to the visually impaired. The layout makes it easy for screen readers to interpret content. All images on the site include alt text, while videos are closed captioned and text uses proper HTML formatting.

The partnership between OPIN and the Canadian Paralympic Committee began several years ago when the organizations created the Find Your Sport tool. This web-based tool helps Canadians with disabilities find accessible sports in their area, allowing them to get involved in sport more easily.

OPIN builds on considerable expertise with a number of Canadian sport organizations, in Ottawa and across the country. The Drupal-powered website harnesses the digital experience capabilities of the platform.

By leveraging the powerful feature set of Drupal, the Canadian Paralympic Committee will be able to build a larger and more engaged audience to support our Paralympians.
